Aceh Journal #7
3 years since the first Bali bombing which took tens of lives or maybe even hundreds (I don't remember for sure), the history repeated itself.

(This is a good article about the aftermath.) Our family just got back from Bali last week.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families, and also to the Balinese people more generally:
they are all victims of these cowardly attacks.
Bali’s economy, so dependent on tourism, was only now beginning to make a full recovery from the 2002 bombing;
everyone I spoke to said that things were better, but not back up to pre-bombing levels.
This second blow may cripple Bali for a long time.
Yup! Our hearts go to the victims and their families who suffered from this.
We have had tsunami and hurricanes ... and now bombings?
Well, bombing has not been a new issue to the world, but must we all suffer form this while we're still recovering from the earlier disasters?
26 lives as noted by CNN were taken, and who knows just how many hundreds of people suffer from losing their family members.
A friend once wrote why our country (Indonesia) is suffering from one disaster to another.
Guys, we sure need to pray more for not just our beloved ones, but also our country (incl. the government).
On the other hand, problems just seem to keep arising. Oil price has gone double!
I think (I'm not so sure about this) this happens not only in Indonesia (right?!?).
So other prices followed the step of oil. Public transportation, goods, etc.
Salary? hmm ... most likely not! ha! :p
Other issue: earthquakes! I read about the earthquake in India and Pakistan. Don't know very well about it, but still ...
I can see how frightened people were when that happened.
on Oct 05, the first day of Ramadhan, there was a very big earthquake in Banda Aceh.
I was assuming that it was more that 7 Richter, but then I read that it was only 5.5 or 5.7 Richter.
Immediately after the quake, the office was empty. People started to go home to chech their families once the quake was gone.
So you can see how the big earthquake ten months ago and the quakes that followed afterwards (and I'm pretty sure there will still be more)
still remain in the minds of the people who suffered from that.
Can we still say that God is good all the time? Or maybe some of you have changed your mind?
I still say He's good! All the time He's great.
Despite all the disasters we've had around the world ... despite all the wars ...
I see that He is taking good care of us, and our family.
I learnt that sometimes He uses the hard way to teach people, and sometimes we see that not as fair thing.
We know that He has a wonderful plan for all of us, whether we believe it or not.
Take it from me.
Nobody's free from sin, correct? correct!
So am I. Sometimes I do things that break His heart. Things I regret doing later ...
but there were times when I don't really seem to care about what is good and what is not, or what is right and what is wrong.
And He taught me the hard way!
He gave me things I really despise.
Cough, headaches, runny nose, and the latest was stomachache (hard to explain, but this is not the kind of regular stomachache)
Things that seem to be simple, but things that I hate the most, especially when I'm not home.
Things that seem so natural, but appeared in the times after I did something bad.
Well, surely not all the sickness I've had here was caused by my bad behavior, or were they???
hmm ...
Anyway, all things I experienced here has taught me to learn more things. I found new friends and new places too!
So friends, thanks for those encouragements. Thanks for those replys!
